Baystate Library & Knowledge Services represents the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) in Western New England. The mission of the NN/LM is
to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public health by
providing all health care providers in the United States with equal
access to biomedical information. In addition, the NN/LM works toward improving public access to
information to enable them to make informed decisions about their
health. The University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Lamar Soutter
Library, the Regional Medical Library for the NN/LM New England Region
(NER), develops and coordinates comprehensive
programs that address this network mission. Baystate Health partners with NN/LM-NER to bring consumer health
information to the neighborhoods of Western New England. We focus on
the urban & rural health needs of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire counties.
