Web-Based GIS Training and Educational Materials

Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, is a term applied to a powerful software technology that enables linking of disparate databases using a common relational feature: geography. Once linked, these "spatial" databases, can be analyzed statistically, modeled, and mapped to support hypothesis generation, action plans, strategic planning, market analysis, and multi-criteria decision support. Baystate Medical Center has been using GIS for more than 8 years and is internationally recognized for its work.
