Leadership Development Resources at the Library & Knowledge Services : Books at the Library & Knowledge Services

How to Find Books

The Library & Knowledge Services shelves books according to their "call number," an alph-numeric combination that is like the book's shelf "address." Our books are cataloged according to the National Library of Medicine's classification system and most of our books on management and leadership are located in the BF and HD sections. You may either browse the shelves to find a book or take a more systematic approach and go to the library's online catalog and type into the search box the title, author or subject area you're looking for to see if we own it and if so where it's shelved and if it is checked out or available. But above all, when in doubt simply give us a call at: 794-1865 or stop by the Circulation Desk for assistance.

Recommending New Titles

If you know of any titles that might be of interest or useful to Baystate colleagues please let the Library & Knowledge Services know! We rely on the recommendations of our library users to keep our collection relevant to your information needs and appreciate any suggestions for purchase. To submit a recommendation go to the library Web site on eWorkplace, click on the tab for SERVICES & FORMS and then scroll down to "suggest a book/journal." Or, click here.

Borrow a Book through Interlibrary Loan

Are you looking for a book that the Library & Knowledge Services does not have? Do you need a book on a topic that the Library has very little on? Let the library staff know and we can identify the perfect book to fit the bill by searching online catalogs such as OCLC's WorldShare of over 2 billion book titles - and borrow the best one(s) for you from other lending libraries. Call the library at 794-1865 or complete our Borrow a Book form for assistance.
