Nursing Research Inquiry & Innovations Council (NRIIC) Mission

The Nursing Research, Innovation, and Improvements Council (NRIIC) fosters the development of evidence-based research at BMC by promoting education regarding the research process, allocating appropriate resources, collaborating to identify contemporary practice issues for study and ensuring the protection of human subjects. They develop, implement and monitor ongoing research and recommend best practices to improve patient outcomes based on nursing research findings.

In support of  research and EBP,  Baystate Medical Center nurses utilize the IOWA model to introduce evidence into nursing practice. The IOWA model focuses on considering triggers and priority to the organization, determining the level of evidence available, and deciding if change is appropriate or if more evidence (research) may be needed.

In an effort to promote and support nursing practice inquiry and subsequent projects, please complete the RN Project Tracking form. This form is intended to capture the clinical practice innovations and improvements initiated and conducted by APN's, Staff RN's, Nurse Residents and all Nursing Program students. Please use this link to document your question and project: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RNProjectTracking
