Obtaining Articles: Home

Who can use the Document Delivery Services

Baystate medical staff, residents, fellows and others who are authorized to use a Baystate Health cost center may request articles through the library. The request must be job-related.  Students must request articles through their school.

Unaffiliated users and the public are welcome to access our print collection and library databases on site. Due to licensing restrictions we do not fulfill article requests for commercial and for-profit entities.

Requesting Articles

How to request an article

As a member of the Baystate community, you may submit an article request using the following options:

  1. Email the citation to our document delivery address: librarydocs@baystatehealth.org
  2. Fill out the online Article Request Form
  3. Call us at 794-1865 and provide the citation or PubMed ID number

Our mission is to process and fill your requests as soon as possible. Incomplete citations may delay delivery, so please be as accurate as possible. Use of PMID or UI will expedite our delivery process.

As a Baystate community member, if you need assistance locating an article, the Library & Knowledge Services can access medical, nursing, allied health or health care related documents through our collections at Baystate. Documents that are not available at our library will be ordered through other lending libraries.

General turn around time is 24 hours or less for articles in our collection. Interlibrary Loan articles can take as little as one hour or up to several days to receive.

FYI

There is no daily limit on the number of articles you may request. However, when the volume is high, we reserve the right to limit document delivery fulfillment to 10 articles per patron per day. For larger orders, we will continue to fulfill 10 requests per day until all of your requests have been processed.
